New MagicPicker’s superpower is ability to easily work with Fill & Stroke colors of Shapes (and Text) in Adobe Photoshop.
To use it:
1) Open MagicPicker’s fly-out menu on the top right
2) select Colorizes Shapes and Text*.
3) Select a Shape layer (or text layer) – MagicPicker will automatically switch to Vector mode
4) Change its color with one click on the color wheel!
MagicPicker 5.0 supports advanced professional design tools for modifying Shapes and Shape groups all at once:
– Assign transparent color with Ctrl(or ⌘)-click on the color swatches
– Rotate Hue° of the multiple shapes – select a group of shape layers and move Hue° slider
– Exchange colors of Fill & Stroke with Exchange button on the MagicPicker panel
– Assign Black & White colors with one click on the B&W button
Even more tools for creating best designs with the plugin:
– Use Tone Lock to keep colors of all the selected shapes in the same range of brightness
– Use Color Temperature Wheel to make all your shapes warmer or colder as you select group of layers
MagicPicker 3.1 helps you to assign keyboard shortcut to the panel from the menu! So you will always have your color wheel at your fingertips.
Just click MagicPicker’s fly-out menu -> Keyboard shortcut… and follow the steps. In the end you will have MagicPicker in the list of all of your keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop so you can change it later on! The shortcut will toggle MagicPicker on or off very quickly.
All our panels have Settings menu (click right-top on the panel and then Settings) where you can quickly tune up some parts of the interface. In MagicPicker you can switch between HSB and Traditional (RYB) color wheel (sometimes called Itten’s color wheel – dated back to 1708). Or you can make your color wheel pointing up – so red (Hue=0) is always on top, which is very convenient in some design jobs.
Click the MagicPicker’s fly-out menu button to explore additional features. You can enter Compact Mode, combine other panels with MagicPicker in a special symbiotic Attach Panels mode, switch color wheel modes and do many other things which will be covered in the upcoming tips.
